Students “made” to paint classrooms in Haryana school

Jind: Parents of students at the government senior secondary school at Hat village in this district today alleged that the children were made to whitewash and paint the classroom walls.

However school principal Lajpatray said the students had given their written consent to do it.

The villagers alleged the whitewash and painting work was going on in the school for the past few days and so far four classrooms have been painted by the students. They complained that the students were shut inside classrooms and made to paint it.

Some school student alleged the principal pressurised them to give consent in writing. The teachers too advised them against saying anything about this to their parents.

Refuting the allegation, Lajpatray said, the school is being beautified following consent of every teacher and student.

The students expressed their willingness in writing to do the work and the school administration would present a report in this matter, he said.

Angered over the issue, villagers demanded action against the school administration.
