A class 10 student reportedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train after he was driven out of class for not paying fee. The incident occurred at Peddapalli, Kareem Nagar district.
Student Edula Santosh Reddy, (15), a native of Abbapur village in Dharmaram mandal was studying in 10th standard in Brilliant Model School in Julapalli mandal headquarters. He had recently paid Rs. 5000 as fee but he was being pestered for clearing the arrears. On Wednesday his class teacher asked him to stand outside along with other students who didn’t pay the fee. Unable to bear the humiliation Santosh Reddy decided to commit suicide.
Santosh recorded his statement on the mobile phone that he was humiliated in the school due to non-payment of school fees. He stated that he would leave this world as he was unable to study due to poverty.
On Wednesday night he jumped before a train and committed suicide.
