In a gruesome incident, Special Protection Force (SPF) constable R Ramakrishna allegedly murdered his wife, and tried to mislead the police, by lodging a missing complain.
The SPF constable of Telangana Police strangulated his wife to death and later burnt her corpse in Anantagiri forests near Vikarabad in Rangareddy district, suspecting that she was having an affair with a childhood friend.
Though he committed the crime on August 6, the case came to light on Thursday only. Ramakrishna initially filed a case on August 14, stating that his wife had been missing since August 6.
Considering that he is a cop, Police officials launched a search thinking that she may have gone off to her parent’s house in Nizamabad after an altercation with her husband.
Later, Ramakrishna started producing evidences to the police stating that his wife had eloped with her paramour. He told the police that he had received an SMS from his wife’s mobile which said: “I am with Arun, I won’t come again to stay with you.” He also requested the police to close the case, stating that he was no more interested in getting his wife back.
Despite probing the case from all corners, Supriya was untraceable for almost a month. After ruling out various probabilities and on doubts raised by Supriya’s parents, police called Rama Krishna for questioning on Tuesday.
After two days of intense interrogation, Ramakrishna revealed that he strangled his wife suspecting that she was having an affair with a childhood friend.
The police today exhumed the remains of the constable’s wife after obtaining a court order and after conducting the necessary formalities handed over the remains to her parents for a proper funeral.
