South Zone Police to start campaign against eve-teasers again

Hyderabad: Mr. M. Satyanarayana, DCP of South Zone told that Police will take stern action against eve-teasers and criminal cases would be booked.

It may be noted that South Zone Police had started this campaign before the month of Ramazan and had taken action against the youths who used to wander aimlessly on the roads. Police used to arrest and shift them in marriage halls during the nights. In the morning, police used to call their parents and offered counseling. Policemen also advised the parents to control their children and not to allow them to go out during nights. Some religious heads were also involved in this campaign for counseling. This step of the police was applauded by many citizens.

Mr. Satyanarayana told that this campaign yielded positive results. Some of the parents of old city desired that such campaign should be started again. After kidnapping a 12-year old girl in Talab Katta area and later her assassination increased pressure on the police to start this campaign again. Police has decided to launch once again. He further told that youths gathering at Pan Shops and hotels are teasing girls and women. This time, criminal cases would be booked against them instead of counseling. He appealed to the parents to stop their children going out of their houses during night times. The purpose of this campaign is to provide a peaceful life for the citizens.
