Sonia calls TRS govt anti-people; backs students’ demands

Alleging that the TRS government was causing troubles to the people with its “undemocratic and dictatorial rule” in Telangana State, AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi on Saturday called upon the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee to get ready to wage a democratic war against the TRS, which was destroying the aim of Congress party which carved out separate Telangana State.

TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, MLA Sampath Kumar, chief official spokesperson D Sravan Kumar, spokesperson Addanki Dayakar, DCC president Bikshamaiah Goud, Naini Rajender Reddy along with 50 Osmania University students JAC members met Sonia Gandhi at her residence in New Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion, Sonia said the programs taken up by the Congress party were good. She praised Osmania University students, who waged war for separate Telangana state. She called upon the students to take up another movement against the TRS government, which sidetracked the aim of achieving separate Telangana State for the democratic rule in Telangana.

On the occasion, the OU students thanked Sonia Gandhi in the form of songs. She explained that her party would be in the front row for the welfare of people of Telangana. She also assured the students that her party would extend support to the student movements. (NSS)
