Smith vows to maintain ‘aggressive’ style against Kiwis

Johannesburg, Nov. 4 : Australia Test captain Steve Smith has insisted that his side would continue to play an aggressive brand of cricket when they will renew their Trans-Tasman rivalry against New Zealand in the three-match series opener in Brisbane on Thursday.

The 26-year-old, who succeeded Michael Clarke as skipper, would also aim to continue his rampaging form against the tourists. He became the world’s number two batsman after scoring seven Test centuries in the last 11 months.

Commenting on the upcoming series against New Zealand, Smith said that he was keen to replicate the same level of success displayed during last year’s series against India.

The right-hander further maintained that Australia would continue to play a hard, aggressive brand of cricket but asserted that they wouldn’t cross the line while sledging, Sport24 reported.

While Australia would aim to keep their unbeaten 27-year record at the Gabba, New Zealanders would look to win their first series win in Australia for 30 years. (ANI)
