Single HC for TS, AP not proper: Kodandaram

Telangana Political JAC Chairman Prof. Kodandaram has said it was not proper on the part of the Centre not to divide the Hyderabad High Court even a year after bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh State.

Addressing a meeting on ‘Special High Court to Telangana State’ here on Saturday at Sundaraiah Vignan Bhavan, Prof. Kodandaram made it clear that once again movement will be revived for division of the High Court. Stating that division of the High Court would be possible only with a public movement, he warned the Centre that the Telangana JAC would intensify agitation from August 6 coinciding with Telangana ideologue Prof. Jayashankar’s birth anniversary for the division of the High Court. He opined that the agitation for bifurcation of the High Court should not confine only to Advocates and called upon every Telanganaite to organize movement unitedly.

Prof. Kodandaram said a Committee will be set up in the TPJAC to revive war against the Centre for division of the High Court. The governments will not work properly without the division of the High Court, he opined, adding there was no committee for the division of the government sector firms. He also alleged that the Sheela Bide Committee was confined only for the division of the assets. Division of the High Court required to take place as per Article-371 (D), he added. (NSS)
