Siasat’s welfare activities pose challenge to other media – Digvijay Singh

Hyderabad: The welfare activities of Siasat Urdu Daily are a challenge for the other media of the country. These welfare activities are the need of the hour. These thoughts were expressed by senior Congress leader and General Secretary of AICC, Mr. Digvijay Singh during his visit to Siasat Urdu Daily yesterday. He met Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Managing Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily and Mr. Amer Ali Khan, News Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily. He was accompanied by Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy, President of Telangana Congress Committee, Mr. Mohammed Ali Shabbeer, Congress MLC, Mr. Madhu Goud Yashki, former Congress MP, Mr. Mohammed Farooq Husain, Congress MLC, Mr. M.B. Vikramarka, Mr. Ponam Prabhakar, Mr. Maheshwar Reddy, Mr. Nagaiah and others.

After inspecting various welfare programs run by Siasat Urdu Daily, Mr. Digvijay Singh expressed his views through Deccan Radio that these activities are the need of the hour. He also told that if a newspaper can implement such activities, it is a challenge for other media. He expressed his good wishes and prayed for prosperity and communal harmony. He applauded the services offered by career guidance and awareness schemes through Siasat Helpline. These programs are helpful in creating awareness about the Govt. scheme. It is difficult matter to spend the amounts allotted in the budget for welfare scheme. He felt happy that on account of awareness programs, more beneficiaries are contacting Siasat Urdu Daily. Mr. Digvijay Singh asked the Congress leaders present on this occasion about the functioning of the former Congress Govt. and the present TRS Govt. He told that there is a need for starting such welfare activities in other States also. When he was told that Siasat Urdu Daily has been helping the students belonging to Bihar, West Bengal, UP, Assam, Jharkhand and other states in getting admissions in the Engineering Colleges of Telangana State, he expressed his wonder that is it possible?

Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan apprised Mr. Digvijay Singh various welfare activities Siasat Urdu Daily has been offering. He told him that Siasat Urdu Daily has been concentrating on the educational development of Muslims community. Steps are being taken to make Muslim marriages simpler. He informed Mr. Singh that 935 Muslim youths have been selected in police department due to the training offered by Siasat Urdu Daily. A Helpline has been started by Siasat Urdu Daily to offer guidance to the Muslim youths in seeking employment. Mr. Singh expected that such activities would benefit the candidates in the State. He interacted with youths who had come over here for seeking guidance for employment and asked them about their future plan. The candidates who were applying for study abroad scholarship apprised him of the difficulties in getting this scholarship. The other candidates applauded the career guidance service and other facilities provided by Siasat Urdu Daily.

Mr. Digvijay Singh applauded the use of funds generated out of the sale of waste newspapers and their usage for the welfare of the poor. He inspected calligraphy section and applauded the efforts taken by Siasat Urdu Daily in revitalizing the art of calligraphy.

Mr. Amer Ali Khan, News Editor of Siasat Urdu welcomed Mr. Singh and discussed issues pertaining to 12% reservation for Muslims and 4% reservation provided by the former Congress Govt.
