Washington DC, Aug 5 : If you are also among many who are still wondering why the famous American series ‘Grey’s Anatomy’s most-popular character McDreamy died? Then here’s the answer! The writer Shonda Rhimes herself disclosed that the decision of ending Derek’s role was just to portray his love for Meredith true.
The 45-year-old screen-writer of the medical drama series said at a press tour that if they wouldn’t have died Derek, played by Patrick Dempsey, then he had to walk out on his love Meredith, and leave her high and dry, but this would have suggested that the love was not true and McDreamy wasn’t McDreamy, E! Online reported.
The American show runner added that plotting Derek’s wasn’t at all easy or fun in fact it was equally painful as it was for the fans, because the team didn’t initially thought that it will run so long and will be a hit.
Rhimes also shared that when they were shooting Dempsey’s exit from the show she was in so pain that she stopped going to the sets because if she would have been there then she would have “cried like an idiot”. (ANI)
