Sharjah flight grounded in India after hit by bird while landing

Coimbatore: The city-bound Air Arabia flight from Sharjah with 100 passengers on board was grounded at the Coimbatore International Airport today after it was hit by a bird while landing, police said.

The pilot managed to land the plane safely at around 4 am, they said. Since the damage was serious in nature, the aircraft was grounded.

Some 160 passengers waiting to depart for Sharjah in return flight, were accommodated in a few hotels, they said. The flight would return to Sharjah after the necessary repairs, police said.
