Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal appointed as Commissioner Minority Welfare in AP

Government of Andhra Pradesh has begun moves to implement schemes for welfare of various sections of society. It is said that the government wants to ensure implementation of schemes pertaining to the welfare of SCs. STs, BCs and minorities. For this purpose the government has given additional charge of Secretary Minority Welfare to Principal Secretary Social Welfare Dr. Vijay Kumar (IAS).

Mr. Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal (IPS), who was serving as special secretary Minority Welfare in Andhra Pradesh, had requested the government to relieve him from the post of Special Secretary so that he could focus on protection of Waqf properties and their revenue. Hence the government gave additional charge to Dr. Vijay Kumar.

Government has retained Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal on the posts of Special Officer Waqf Board and Managing Director Minority Finance Corporation. He will also serve as Commissioner Minority Welfare. Thus Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal will serve in all important institutions pertaining to Minority Welfare.
