Shabbir Ali condoles demise of Moulana Abdullah Quraishi

Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir has expressed deep condolences over the demise of Moulana Alhaj Abdullah Quraishi Al-Azhari, the Khateeb of historic Mecca Masjid on Tuesday.

“I was deeply shocked to learn the sad demise of respected Moulana Abdullah Quraishi. May Allah accept his services, pardon him for lapses and grant him the highest place in Jannat-Ul-Firdaus,” Shabbir Ali said in his message. Moulana Abdullah’s life will remain an inspiration for all students and teachers alike. He did his Metric from Aligarh Muslim University, graduation from Osmania University, Fazil from Jamia Nizamia, Academics from Nagpur University and studied in famous Al-Azhar University of Egypt for eight years. He did his M. Phil in “Dawatul Islamia Al Ma’aasirah Fil Hind” and completed ‘Shahadatul Aliya’ and ‘Shahadatut Taqassus’ from Jamia Al-Azhar. As a teacher, he has trained hundreds of students in the Qir’ath of Holy Quran with Jajweed. He taught Arabic and Adab in Jamia Nizamia since 1978.

Recalling his association with Moulana Abdullah Quraishi, Shabbir Ali said he had the privilege of interacting with Moulana on several occasions. He had a unique way of reciting Qira’ath and as it touched every soul. He said that the previous Congress – Government had sent Moulana Abdullah Quraishi and his wife for Haj 2008 as part of official delegation Government of India.

Moulana Abdullah Quraish has served the Muslim community in the capacity of Khateeb of Mecca Masjid and the Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Nizamia. His contribution for Muslim world and also the country could not be defined in words and his demise is a huge loss for the entire Islamic world.

Shabbir Ali, Rajya Sabha MP V. Hanumantha Rao, Greater Hyderabad Congress president Danam Nagender, ex-MLA Marri Sashidhar Reddy and other senior leaders of Congress party, visited Moulana Abdullah Quraishi’s residence at Panch Mohalla in the Old City and conveyed their deep sympathies to the bereaved family.
