Shaadi Mubarak Scheme gets Rs. 50 crore more

Hyderabad: It is for the first time that the budget allocated for a Govt. scheme has fully been utilized. It is also the first incident that the Govt. released more amounts that the budget allocation.

Shaadi Mubarak Scheme created a new record. Dy. CM of Telangana State, Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali made successful representations to the CM and Finance Minister informing them that the amount of Rs. 100 crore allocated for Shaadi Mubarak Scheme has fully been exhausted. It benefited 25800 families. For each family, Rs. 51000 was given. After the allocated budget was exhausted, Finance Department had stopped further payments.

Perplexed with this situation, the officials of the Department of Minorities Welfare informed Dy. CM who in turn contacted the CM and Finance Minister. It is reported that more than 5000 families are awaiting the sanction of money under this scheme.

Mr. Mahmood Ali told that seeing the success of this scheme, proposals would be made for the allocation of Rs. 2000 crore in the next budget. Mr. Jalaluddin Akbar hoped that all the pending applications in the districts would be disposed off. Mr. K. Rama Krishna Rao, Secretary, Dept. of Finance issued G.O.Rt. No 3523 releasing the additional grant of Rs. 50 crore.
