Shaadi Mubarak Scheme – Budget exhausted, 5000 applications pending

Hyderabad: The allocated budget for this year in respect of Shaadi Mubarak Scheme has been exhausted and it is not possible to sanction any fresh grants under this scheme unless Govt. releases additional funds.

It may be noted that Govt. had allocated a target of Rs. 100 crore which the Dept. of Minorities Welfare completed it. So far, 19018 applications have been disposed off and there are 5200 applications pending.

Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS, Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare hoped that the Dept. of Finance would release additional funds for this scheme. However, if permission is given, amounts from other heads of account would be diverted for this purpose.
