Siddhartnagar: A 35-year-old man died after he along with six others were thrashed by 12 miscreants in Bhimpar village under City Kotwali police station area, police said today.
The deceased has been identified as Haridutt Lodh, they said.
The incident took place last night when armed miscreants attacked seven persons who were playing cards in the village with lathis and fled with their cash and mobile phone, police said.
Among the injured was Haridutt who succumbed to severe injuries in hospital while one other person was rushed to Gorakhpur medical college hospital, police said adding, that five others were discharged after given first aid.
A case has been registered and investigations were on, police added.
