Sehwag bids adieu to international cricket

New Delhi, Oct.20 : Indian opener Virender Sehwag has announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket in order to play in next year’s Masters Champions League, a UAE-based Twenty20 tournament where only retired players can participate.

Confirming the news, Sehwag wrote on Twitter, “I hereby retire from all forms of international cricket and from the Indian Premier League,”

The 37-year-old also thanked everyone for their lovely wishes.

Sehwag made his Test debut against South Africa in 2001 and ODI debut against Pakistan in 1999.

He has scored 8,586 runs at an average of 49.34 in 104 Tests and has amassed 8,273 runs at an average of 35.05 in 251 ODIs. (ANI)
