The Union Urban & Rural Development Ministry has announced that the Nizamabad district stands at 82nd place in Swachh Bharat program across the nation and second in the State after Warangal.
It may be recalled that the Centre had selected 476 towns and cities where the population is more than one lakh. The Warangal Corporation stood at 33rd place and Nizamabad at 82nd place. Karimnagar, which competed with Nizamabad in getting smart city status, got 259th place. Ramagundam at 142nd, Miryalaguda 169th, Secunderabad 191, Hyderabad 275, Suryapet 283, Khammam 308 and Adilabad 349th places.
