School student allegedly gangraped, murdered in J’Khand

Jamshedpur: Body of a standard four student has been found after she was allegedly gangraped and murdered by miscreants in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district, police said today.

The girl had gone missing yesterday after returning from school and her undressed body was found among bushes near Behda village this morning.

Her face was found to have been crushed with stones, Goilkera police station officer-in-charge Patras Nag said.

Prima facie it suggested that the girl was raped and murdered but the number of miscreants involved in the crime was yet to be established, he said.

The body of the victim girl, who was a student of St Paul’s School and lived with her paternal uncle.

The girl had gone to wash her clothes in a nearby ‘nullah’ soon after returning from the school yesterday but did not return home.

The family members searched for her but could not trace her till late last night. When they resumed the search this morning her brother spotted her clothes kept in a bucket and one of her slippers. Her body was found hid in the bush with her face crushed with stones, Nag added.
