Sayeed admitted in AIIMS after he complained of uneasiness

New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was today admitted in AIIMS after he complained of uneasiness at his residence in Srinagar and was flown to Delhi in a state aircraft.

79-year-old Sayeed’s condition is stable, an AIIMS spokesperson said. He was admitted in the private ward of the premier medical institute at 12.30 PM.

“He was admitted with chief complaint of fever in the private ward. His condition is absolutely stable, except for a little fever.

“He is being looked after by a team of doctors from the departments of Endocrinology and Medicine. He will undergo a battery of investigations to know the cause of his problem,” said Dr Amit Gupta, AIIMS spokesperson and Additional Professor of Trauma Surgery and Critical Care at AIIMS Trauma Centre.

According to another doctor in AIIMS, the Chief Minister was supposed to visit the hospital today for a routine medical check up under the supervision of Dr Mohammed Ashraf Ganie, Assistant Professor, Endocrinology and Metabolism.

He had taken over as Chief Minister of a PDP-BJP alliance government in March this year.
