Saudi student stabbed in New Jersey

An unidentified man in a street at Hackensack, New Jersey, stabbed a female Saudi a fourth year medical student of Colombia University in Hackensack.

First it appeared to a case of hate crime. As per the student’s statement, she went for a walk on Thursday evening, two men in a small black car followed her. One of them said in Arabic accent “perhaps you know that with whom you are playing” and stabbed her. His accomplice was speaking good English and both of them fled the scene soon after attacking her.

She said. “However, it does not appear to be a hate crime because the attackers neither touched my veil nor passed any racist comment, as was reported by a section of the media.”

The passerby took her to the hospital she said. “I was then moved to Hackensack Hospital for treatment and discharged after my condition improved.” Fortunately, none of her internal organs were harmed due to the stabbing.

She said the police came to the hospital and recorded her statement and promised that the culprits would be brought to justice.

She is on a scholarship program of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for foreign studies.

Even the the Saudi Consulate in New York and the Saudi cultural attaches office in Washington also clarified in a statement that the student was attacked but her veil was not touched by the culprits.
