Sarve a demonetized coin: KTR

Panchayat Raj and IT Minister K T Rama Rao today termed former Congress MP Sarve Satyanarayana as a ‘worthless’ coin contesting bypoll in Warangal.

Participating in a party workers meeting with another minister T Harish Rao in Warangal, KTR sought to know how can an invalid coin in Hyderabad will be valid in Warangal, he asked. In an oblique reference to the former MP, who unsuccessfully contested in the last general elections from Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency, KTR said the people would not vote in favour of the Congress leader. He also ridiculed the BJP for fielding an NRI for the bypoll.

Stating that dollars will not fetch votes in the bye-election, KTR appealed to the people to vote in favour of TRS candidate P. Dayakar for the constituency development. The minister asserted that the TRS government was implementing an insurance of Rs 5 lakh for the welfare of the workers and was also making relentless efforts for their development. He also said the people are considering Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao as their elder son. “We are supplying the same fine rice KCR is eating to the welfare hostels in the State”, he said.

Harish Rao alleged that the Congress and BJP and Telugu Desam combine fielded non-local candidates in the by-election. While the TDP has no face, the BJP roped in an NRI, the Congress with no other go, fielded a failed candidate, he charged. The RTC workers should support Dayakar of the TRS candidate, he said. Credit of giving 44 per cent fitment will go to KCR, he said, adding that they will give house sites to the RTC workers in future.

Alleging that the previous government had failed to help the RTC personnel, he said the TRS government was trying to protect it. KCR also regularized services of 4,300 RTC workers and bearing a burden of Rs 75 crore, Harish Rao said. (NSS)
