Kolkata: West Bengal Transport Minister Madan Mitra, who is an accused in the Saradha Chit-fund scam, resigned from his post on Wednesday.
The Calcutta High Court on November 5 had ordered Mitra to be kept under house arrest till November 17. The TMC leader had got a bail in this case by an Alipur court on October 31.
The court had also questioned that how the lower court granted the bail to him when the High Court refused it in August.
CBI had arrested Mitra in connection with the scam in December last year. (ANI)
