Afshan Jabeen who used social media to allegedly attract youth to join ISIS was arrested at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Friday. Police arrested 36-year-old Afshan Jabeen alias Nicole Joseph when she reached Hyderabad from Dubai.
The woman had a secret admirer who was so smitten by the 37-year-old Afsha Jasbeen aka Nicky Joseph that he proposed to her online and wanted to marry her, according to a report published in Indian Express.
According to sources 26-year-old youth Salman Muhiuddin was arrested on January 16 this year, when he was trying to leave for Dubai to join ISIS. During Salman’s interrogation police discovered that a woman named Nicky Joseph presenting herself as British native persuaded him to join ISIS through social networking websites.
Police asserted that Afshan Jabeen who belongs to Tolichowki area of Hyderabad had studied degree from a famous city college and later shifted to Dubai after marrying to Devender Kumar alias Mustafa. Police claimed that Afshan Jabeen brain washed youth and attracted them to join ISIS.
Deputy Commissioner of police Shamsabad Zone Mr. AR Srinivas told that Afshan Jabeen has been remanded to judicial custody and she will be interrogated further after taking her into police custody.
