Salman shouldn’t be taken seriously for his ‘ridiculous’ comment, says father Salim Khan

Mumbai, July 26 : Veteran Bollywood scriptwriter Salim Khan on Sunday lashed out at his son and actor Salman Khan after he made tweets in support of 1993 Mumbai serial blasts convict Yakub Memon.

Salim said that whatever Salman has written is ridiculous and meaningless, adding that his son is ignorant of the issue and, therefore, people should not take him seriously.

However, he also said that Yakub should be kept in jail rather be hanged because by keeping him alive, he was being given a bigger punishment.

In a controversial tweet, the Dabangg Khan has said that Yakub Memon should not be hanged as the real culprit is the latter’s brother Tiger Memon.

“Hang Tiger. Brother is being hanged for Tiger. Arre where is Tiger? Get Tiger hang him. Parade him not his brother,” he said in a tweet.

Meanwhile, Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam has urged Salman to withdraw his tweets, saying that he should try to understand the agony of people and should not interfere in the judicial process.

Yakub Memon has been sentenced to death for his role in the 1993 Mumbai blasts.

The Supreme Court had earlier this week rejected his last-minute appeal and upheld his hanging for July 30. (ANI)
