After a long wait the staff and home guards of Makkah Masjid and Shahi Masjid will soon get their salaries as Finance Department has finally deposited Rs. 1 Cr in the account of Minority Welfare Department. Following the publication of report in Siasat on the issue and on the direction of Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, officials of Minority Welfare made representation with Finance Department for release of budget.
Earlier Deputy Chief Minister was informed that the salaries have been issued while the fact was on the contrary. He was made believe that only one worker of Shahi Masjid who is on contract didn’t get the salary as his account number has been changed. While the fact is the said worker is deprived of his salary for 18 months. The question is does it require 18 months to transfer amount into new account number.
It is likely that all the staff and home guards will be issued their salaries within two days. They have thanked Siasat for raising the issue in the newspaper.
