Transport Minister M. Mahender Reddy on Thursday announced that the Telangana Government would spend Rs. 20,000 crore for the development of infrastructure and other facilities in Greater Hyderabad.
Speaking to media persons after participating in various developmental programmes in Uppal, Kapra, Qutubullahpur and other areas, the minister informed that sufficient funds were being allocated for drinking water and housing schemes in Hyderabad. He said that the entire development process would be taken up in a planned manner. He said that the State Government has allocated Rs. 40 crore for various works under Swachh Hyderabad programme. He said the works, identified by the city legislators during Swachh Hyderabad were being completed on priority basis.
Mahender Reddy said Rs. 700-800 crore would be spent on improvement of roads in Ranga Reddy district. Similarly, funds have been sanctioned for restoration and beautification of lakes in an around Hyderabad under Mission Kakatiya. He said Rs. 18 crore were being spent on construction of CC roads in three surrounding municipalities.
Earlier, the minister has laid foundation stone for BT Roads in Devender Nagar of Ramanthapur, Madura Nagar, RTC Colony and Indira Nagar and a Vegetable Market Yard in Uppal division. He also participated in other development works.
Malkajgiri MP Ch Mallareddy and other leaders and senior officials were also present on the occasion. (INN)
