RPF nabs chain snatcher

Swift response from Railway Protection Force personnel helped nab a chain snatcher just in time.

At about 7 PM on 17th October, the Security Control of Secunderabad Railway Station received information that one person tried to snatch a gold chain from a woman passenger travelling in S-14 coach of train no.12760 Charminar Express.

Immediately, the Assistant Sub Inspector led the Crime Prevention Detection Squad and Crowd Control teams to the train and nabbed the offender who tried to snatch 3 tolas of gold chain from a woman passenger named Jhansi Laxmi, resident of Midnapur, Golkonda, Hyderabad while she was sleeping. The snatcher revealed his name as Rohit, 22, of Paugadh (village), Insena Thana, Ahmedabad, presently residing at Khairtabad, Hyderabad.

Later, RPF handed over the accused to Govt. Railway Police, Secunderabad for further action. (INN)
