Karachi, Nov.23 : Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik has revealed that he had called curtains on his Test career in order to completely focus his attention towards the 2019 World Cup.

Malik made a comeback to the Test fold after a gap of five years when he played the first Test of the three-match series against England in Abu Dhabi.

Speaking on his fitness, the 33-year-old said that he had trained himself and tried hard to maintain his fitness during the gap, the Express Tribune reported.

According to Malik, if a cricketer is physically fit he could easily achieve his goals.

Considering cricket as his passion, Malik said that he would continue to work on his fitness even if he retires.

He claimed his best Test figures of four for 33 against England in his final Test match in Sharjah.

The all-rounder made his Test debut against Bangladesh in 2001. He had played 34 Tests for Pakistan and scored 1860 runs at an average of 35.76. He also claimed 25 wickets at an average 58.40. (ANI)
