Ravula asks KCR to stop “Yagam of encouraging defections”

Welcoming the Ayutha Chandi Yagam  performed by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, TDP senior leader Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy said KCR should stop indulging in unholy “defections Yagam” in the State.

Speaking to the media at NTR trust bhavan here on Monday, the TDP leader said Chandi Yagam was organized for the welfare of State people, but KCR should stop indulging in unholy political Yagam of attracting leaders from other parties and admitting them into his party. He alleged that ZPTCs and MPTCs, who came to exercise their franchise in MLC elections, were threatened and intimidated by the ruling party leaders and made them to vote for TRS candidates. The TRS should stop making mockery of Constitution and democracy by luring other party leaders. KCR should desist from this political yagam, he suggested.

Stating that so far 2,132 farmers have committed suicide since June 2014, the TDP leader alleged that the State government does not have exact figure of farmers, who had committed suicide. Condemning the TRS government’s report submitted in the High Court, Chandrasekhar Reddy said a three-member committee set up by the State government  has stated that of the 782 farmers, only  342 suicide cases were related to farmers. The committee has probed 673 registered cases. On other hand, TRS MP and Telangana Jagruti president Kavitha has announced financial support to families of 700 farmers, who had committed suicide, he pointed out. The State government should immediately withdraw its affidavit submitted in the court and pay compensation to all the farmers, who have committed suicides after June 2014. (NSS)
