Ramos set to extend contract with Real Madrid

London, Aug 17 : Sergio Ramos has put an end to speculation over his future by agreeing to sign a new five-year contract with Real Madrid on Monday.

According to the BBC, contract talks were stalled after the Spanish giants had rejected Manchester United ‘s 28.6million pound bid for the 29-year-old defender in June.

Goalkeeper David De Gea, a Real target, is expected to stay at United after the La Liga club ruled out selling Ramos.

Ramos has made 445 appearances for the club since his debut for Real in 2005, with scoring memorable injury-time equalizer in their Champions League final win over Atletico Madrid in 2014.

The Spaniard has made 128 appearances for Spain, and won two European Championships and the 2010 World Cup. (ANI)
