Ram Madhav’s statement might give setback to Indo-Pak ties: Congress

New Delhi : The Congress Party on Sunday lashed out at Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP) General Secretary Ram Madhav over his statement of ‘Akhand Bharat’ and said it might give setback to India-Pakistan friendship which is being created by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Ram Madhav’s statement might give a setback to the situation of friendship that is being created by the Prime Minister. This might give strength to people like Hafiz Saeed who will create propaganda and say India’s sole motive is to create ‘Akhand Bharat’,” Congress leader Meem Afzal told ANI.

“This is RSS ideology and today RSS is ignoring it and saying Ram Madhav’s statement is government’s statement. If this is government’s statement, then Modi ji must say whether he has talked about ‘Akhand Bharat’ in Pakistan. Will he talk about it when he will visit Bangladesh? I think the Prime Minister must answer on Ram Madhav’s statement,” he added.

Madhav had yesterday said the traditional RSS line that India, Pakistan and Bangladesh could re-unite through “popular goodwill” to form “Akhand Bharat”.

Madhav said the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) still believes that one day India, Pakistan and Bangladesh would reunite through popular goodwill and ‘Akhand Bharat’ will be created. (ANI)
