Prohibitory orders issued in Hyderabad

With a view to maintaining law and order in the twin cities, City police today issued prohibitory orders, prohibiting public meetings and processions in the city without obtaining prior permission of police officials concerned.

The order came in force from 6 am today, to 6 am on September 24.

Carrying of arms like swords, spears, knives, sticks with or without flags, holding of any kind of public meetings, and processions without obtaining prior permission of police, gathering of persons on the public roads or public places disturbing peace and order or causing inconvenience, annoyance or danger to public would be taken seriously.

Playing music, singing or speeches or broadcasting through loud speakers too prohibited, the order quoted.

However, police officers on duty, Military personnel, Home Guards and bona fide funeral processions are exempted from this order. The commissioner informed that any person violating the prohibitory order would be prosecuted.

Use of mikes/public address around the Secretariat premises, including BRKR Building, GHMC building, Commissioner of Fisheries building, Mint Compound, Nizam College and its surroundings, Telangana and AP Legislative Assembly premises and surrounding roads, Public Garden Nampally, Upper Tankbund, I–MAX, Rotary and NTR Marg roads are also prohibited.
