Proctor & Gamble team meets KCR; To set up Planning Centre in T

Proctor & Gamble Managing Director A. I, Rajwani called on Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, along with his team at the Camp Office this afternoon.

During the meeting, Rajwani told the Chief Minister they would like to establish a Planning Centre in Telangana to cater to the entire South Asia and sought cooperation of State government. He also informed the CM that they would like to expand their present unit at Penjarla village in Kottur mandal of Mahboobnagar district which is located in an area of 171 acres. The existing unit has 786 employees and they will be increasing the number to 1200 and in this 80% will be only from Telangana. In addition to this, for the Planning Centre, they will be recruiting 50 highly skilled persons to begin with and increase it to 100 later.

Responding to their request, the Chief Minister said Telangana is the best State for them to invest and expand their activity. He advised them to have a big base in Telangana where there is best Industrial Policy in operation. He told them to grow and make Telangana also to grow.

In response to Rajwani’s request about their CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) activity, KCR asked them to work in the field of local people’s interests. It could be in the area of KG-to-PG education, he said. Proctor and Gamble is an MNC with operation in 80 countries and sale of its products in 150 countries. It has set up a Fabric and Home care, beauty Care, Oral Care, Baby Care and Feminine Care Unit at Penjerla village of Mahbubnagar district.
