Despite all oppositions, the state government has expedited the process of shifting of Osmania Hospital. Special budget of Rs. 6.69 Cr. has been released in this connection. Chief Minister of Telangana Mr. K Chandrasekhar Rao who had promised to revive Nizam’s glory is trying to demolish the heritage structure on the pretext of precariousness of the structure. Sensing the public ire and widespread protest by opposition parties and several NGOs, the government put off the decision for some days.
Recently government issued GO 695 and issued orders to shift Osmania Hospital and issued budget of Rs. 6.69 Cr for construction of new building. It must be noted that this Hyderabad’s iconic building is listed among heritage structures.
