President Pranab Mukherjee today condoled the loss of lives due to heavy rains and lightning in different parts of Andhra Pradesh.
In his message to Andhra Pradesh Governor E S L Narasimhan, Mukherjee said, “I am sad to learn about the heavy rains and lightning in different parts of Andhra Pradesh, which have caused loss of lives and injuries. My thoughts and prayers are with the injured and the families who have lost their near and dear ones”.
The President called upon the state government and other authorities to provide all possible aid to the bereaved families as well as medical assistance to the injured.
“Please convey my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. I wish speedy recovery to the injured persons,” he said.
Three persons were killed yesterday in two rain-related incidents in Kadapa town of Andhra Pradesh. As many as 19 people died on Sunday after they were struck by lightning in separate incidents in five districts of the state which were lashed by heavy rains.
