President Mukherjee extends greetings on eve of Brazil’s Independence Day

New Delhi, Sept. 6 : President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday extended his greetings and felicitations to the government and people of the Federative Republic of Brazil on the eve of their independence day.

“On behalf of the Government and the people of India and on my own behalf, it gives me great pleasure to felicitate you, the Government and the people of the Federative Republic of Brazil on the occasion of your Independence Day,” President Mukherjee said in his message to President of Brazil Dilma Rousseff.

The President stated that the relations between India and Brazil have evolved into a strategic partnership characterized by multi-faceted engagements.

“India and Brazil enjoy warm and cordial relations, which has evolved into a Strategic Partnership, characterized by multi-faceted engagements covering a range of activities in the political, economic and cultural fields. Our co-operation in BRlCS, IBSA, BASIC and G4 adds even greater salience to our engagement,” he said.

He further said that continued interaction at highest levels between India and Brazil would enhance and strengthen bilateral cooperation for the mutual benefit of both the nations.

“Please accept, Excellency, my best wishes for your good health and personal well-being, as well as for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Brazil,” he said. (ANI)
