Poverty drives 3 of a family to commit suicide

Three members of a family reportedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a train in Warangal on Tuesday. It is said that Chandrasekhar (60), his wife Sarojana (55) and his sister Kamalamma (65) hailed from Medak district. Chandrasekhar the bread winner was said to be suffering from financial crunch.

The trio took a holy dip at Mangapet before jumping in front of the Navjeevan Express at Warangal railway under bridge area. Chandrasekhar and Sarojana died on the spot while Kamalamma succumbed to the injuries in afternoon while undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Chandrasekhar’s son Rama Koteshwar Rao, a taxi driver at Siddipet, expressed his inability to take the bodies to Siddipet and perform the last rites due to his poor financial condition. Responding to his plight, the local traders and good Samaritans came forward and performed the last rites of the deceased at a local graveyard with the help of the police.
