Police denies permission for meeting to Jamat Ahl-e-Hadeeth

Police has denied permission to hold public meeting to Jamat Ahl-e-Hadeeth at Khilwat ground. Mr. Shafeeq Aalam Khan Secretary Jamat Ahl-e-Hadeeth had submitted an application on August 17 in the office of DCP South Zone seeking permission to hold public meeting at Khilwat ground on August 29. On delay in giving permission by the police, Jamat members filed a petition in High Court appealing to direct police to give permission for the meeting. South Zone Police explained the court how the permission for meeting could create law and order issue. Some local people had objected to the meeting. Pronouncing the verdict Justice AV Sesha Sai asked the petitioner to approach DCP South Zone again for the permission.

In a note DCP South Zone Mr. V Satya Narayana told that provocative speeches by the Jamat have created restlessness in South Zone areas like Shama Talkies, Kala Pathar, Talab Katta, SRT Colony, Madina Nagar B. Block, Nawab Saheb Kunta and Misri Gunj. According to intelligence information meeting might create law and order issue. Hence South Zone police yesterday night refused to give permission for the meeting. It must be noted that a MP had earlier agreed to attend Jamat Ahl-e-Hadeeth meeting however later he apologised on the pretext of some unavoidable engagement.
