POLICE BUSTED INTERNATIONAL GOLD SMUGGLING RACKET

The Hyderabad Police busted an international gold smuggling racket with the detaining four persons from old city. Police seized Gold Biscuits wg about 4.19 Kgs and net cash of Rs 16 lakh Indian Currency, 2,500 riyals and 910 UAE Dhirams from their possession while being exchanged illegally.

The arrested identified as Zafar Ahmed alias Zaki 28 years, occ: Four wheeler broker Azampura, Chadergaht, near Saifa Masjid , Syed Wajeed alias Ajeed: 25 years, occ: Tarpaulin shop styled “Z” Tarpaulin, at Dewan Devdi, R/o Back side Asiya Garden, Teegalkunta, Arif Ali Shaik alias Ali, 40 years, Occ: Airport representative at Western Hotel, R/o: Kotla Alija, Mirchowk, Mohd Taheruddin alias Asif, 24 years, Occ: Burkha Center at Sheran Market, R/o: Back Side Yashoda Hospital, Old Malakpet, and Mohd Feroz Khan alias Feroz, 32 years N/o. Hasannagar, Hyderabad, presently residing at Dubai) (absconding).

During the course of interrogation, it revealed that the said Foreign marked Gold Biscuits are being smuggled through the carriers by International flights from Dubai to Hyderabad for On credible information, the Commissioner’s Task Force, South Zone marketing on higher price for earning money illegally. The accused Feroz who is residing at Dubai procures the gold and send the same to Hyderabad through the carriers for marketing.

On receipt of the Gold from Dubai, Asif used to sell it to known customers at a discounted price for illegal gains. It is suspected that the seized Foreign marked gold bars are smuggled from Dubai to Hyderabad for selling the same for illegal gains.

The apprehended persons and seized property is being handed over to the concerned authorities for further investigation. The above apprehensions were made under the supervision of N. Koti Reddy, Addl. Dy. Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force , Thakur Sukhdev Singh, Inspector of Police, South Zone Task Force, and SI’s G. Mallesh, K. Venkateshwarlu, SK Jakeer Hussain and D.Venkateshwarlu and the staff.(NSS)
