Police arrested Dawood Ibrahim aide Riyaz Bhati at Mumbai airport

After Chhota Rajan’s arrest in Bali on Sunday, a close aide of Don Dawood Ibrahim, Riyaz Bhati was taken into custody from Mumbai’s Sahar airport on Wednesday for possessing two passports, security agencies are tightening the noose on every person related to him.

The Sahar Police arrested builder Riyaz Bhatti after he was caught during the immigration check before taking a flight (EY 203) to Johannesburg early on Wednesday.

The two passports of Riyaz Bhati contained different information on them but were used several times during travelling abroad. While the first passport was issued under the name of Phoolji Bhati in June 2007, the second was under his original name issued in March 2013.

Officer said that,”We are searching for the fake passport. He managed to escape every time from airport and easily took flight. But this time he failed. Also probing all the criminal offences filed against him.

Bhati has been booked under the Indian Penal Code sections 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged electronic record) and 34 (common intention).

Bhatti, builder currently operates a sports academy called the Indian Sports Academy, had serious offences registered against him, including a firing case at Khandala in 2007 and 2008 and a land grabbing case at Malad in 2009.

The sports academy operated by Bhati is a front to convert the hawala money of Chhota Shakeel into white. The police suspect that Bhati might have several other fake passports too, according to report.
