‘Pointing fingers’ at Pakistan for Gurdaspur attacks ‘unfortunate’ : FO

Karachi, July 31 : The Pakistan Foreign Office has rejected India’s accusation of its involvement in the Gurdaspur terror attack, saying that it was ‘unfortunate’ on the part the South Asian neighbour to point fingers as the investigation into the attack was not yet complete.

Foreign Office spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah further said that Pakistan being a victim of terrorism itself is against all forms of terrorism, the Express Tribune reported.

Earlier today, Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the parliament session and said that the gunmen who stormed a police station in India’s Punjab came from Pakistan.

Singh even warned of a forceful response to any attempt to undermine India’s territorial integrity or security.

Gunmen dressed in military fatigues killed at least 10 people, including three civilians, in India’s Punjab state on Monday before being shot dead in a 12-hour-long gunfight with security forces in a small-town police station near the Pakistan’s border area.

Pakistan had earlier issued a statement strongly condemning the attack and extending condolences to the government and people of India and pushing back against insinuations that the assailants had crossed from Pakistani territory. (ANI)
