PM Modi insulted India by calling leaders before him corrupt, says Congress

New Delhi, Sept.28 : Senior Congress leader Anand Sharma on Monday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for insulting the nation by calling leaders before him corrupt.

“He has insulted the whole country, while saying that the whole India was corrupt before he came to power. Prime Minister Modi should explain after returning, as to why he has insulted the former leaders of our nation post independence, calling them corrupt,” Sharma said at a press conference here.

Sharma also alleged that the Prime Minister is misusing public office for his official state visits.

“He is misusing his official state visits and we demand an independent inquiry on the hundreds and millions of dollars, which has been spent in the organisation of such events. And the fact, that thousand of people from this country, including RSS workers have been sent for months in advance to prepare. I have said earlier, that 4300 of their workers are in United States since July,” Sharma added.

“Prime Minister Modi only believes in I, me and myself. His mindset is that, there was nothing before him and nobody is equivalent to him. This is an unhealthy mindset and a matter of concern,” he added.

Sharma also refuted Prime Minister Modi’s claim of being a tea seller and requested the media to undertake investigative journalism to find out the truth.

“I request the media to do some investigative journalism and to find where did he sell tea? His father use to run a canteen, and in Ahmedabad, his uncle use to sell tickets.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the Indian community at SAP Centre at San Jose, California, today said even as most of leaders in India have indulged in corrupt practices, he has no allegations of corruption against him.(ANI)
