At least 10 people were killed and 35 others wounded on Sunday when a suicide bomber blew himself up at a volleyball playground in Afghanistan’s eastern province of Paktika, an official said.
The blast occurred at an open playground where youths were playing in the evening. The terrorist who detonated his explosive jacket in the middle of the ground was also killed in the blast, a provincial source told Xinhua.
The injured were shifted to local hospitals, the source said, adding that the toll was likely to rise as many were in critical condition.
No group had so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
