Piyush Goyal urges American Investing Community to invest in India

Washington D.C.: Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal has urged the American Investing Community to come to India with latest technology, which will help in bringing affordable energy access to the people.

“I want to urge American Investing Community to come to us with specific ideas and issues. The latest technology will help India in bringing affordable access energy for all our people. India is already Asia’s third largest economy, and is set to become the largest clean energy market in the next decade,” Goyal said, while addressing the 40th leadership Summit of US-India Business Council (USIBC).

Goyal also called upon investors and business houses to harness the opportunity and added that the tax reforms in India will help the investors invest in India.

“At a time, when the world is going through crisis, I believe, India is a stable Island in the ocean, that we have today. Relatively, stable currency, relatively progressive economic growth, a Current Account Deficit (CAD), which is under one percent now. Fiscal deficit largely under control probably lower than 3.9 percent. Over all, the situation is conducive to balance development and balance growth. We have brought reforms on the tax side to help the investors invest in India and USIBC, certainly plays a very important role,” he said.

Earlier, US Vice-President Joe Biden has said their goal is to become India’s best friend and both the nations should work together as strategic partners to bring about a safer and prosperous world.

“Our goal is to become India’s best friend. The President and I, and the entire administration believe that the India-US relationship will be a relationship that will go a long way in defining the findings of the 21st century,” said Biden.
