Parties should unite for spl status: CPI

Hyderabad: Expressing concern over suicide by one Congress supporter Munikoti of Tirupati which may trigger similar incidents, CPI National leader Dr K Narayana today exhorted all political parties to unitedly launch direct action against the Centre for special status to  Andhra Pradesh.

In an official communiqué here on Sunday, the CPI leader slammed the BJP Government at the Centre for detracting on the special status to AP and trying to woo with special package instead. The CPI leader also accused Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of failing to get special status for Andhra Pradesh despite his tall talk. Munikoti incident may fuel similar incidents, he feared and called upon all political parties to exert pressure on the Centre for the special status to AP and prevent recurrence of suicides in the State, he said.
