Panel seeks action plan to expedite construction of AP capital

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority’s (CRDA) advisory committee has asked for an action plan to expedite construction of the proposed new state capital, it was officially announced here today.

The advisory committee held a meeting at Hyderabad today under the chairmanship of Municipal Administration Minister and CRDA Chairman P Narayana to assess the progress of the capital construction process, a release issued by the state government stated.

Incidentally, this happens to be the first meeting of the advisory committee after receiving the megaplan for seed capital from the Singapore government.

Members of the advisory committee expressed that a comprehensive action plan should be prepared to speed up construction of the state capital, the release stated.

The panel also decided to meet frequently to assess the progress of the capital construction and felt that layout plots have to be handed over to farmers who surrendered their lands under the pooling system, the release stated.

Members of the advisory committee are B Mastan Rao, B Srinivas, M Prabhakara Rao and Ch Srinivasa Rao, while other officials who attended the meeting were Prinicpal Secretary for Finance P V Ramesh, Chief Minister’s Office Secretary Satish Chandra and CRDA commissioner N Srikanth, the release stated.
