Jammu, Sept. 28 : Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Jitendra Singh on Monday said that Pakistan is trying to distract the attention of the world from their own problems by raising Kashmir issue at the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly ( UNGA) every now and then.
“The 1994 unanimously passed resolution by the parliament of India states that if at all, there is any issue pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir between India and Pakistan, It is only that of how to retrieve back the part of J-K, which continues to remain under illegal occupation of Pakistan even after 68 years of independence which is described as Pak occupied J-K, and therefore, all these statements being made by the Pakistan leaders are either meant for domestic compulsions considering the circumstances back home, or they are meant to distract the attention of the world opinion from their own problems,” Singh told ANI.
Singh further added that Kashmir is an integral part of India and it will always remain so.
“There is a unanimous consensus above party lines as far as J-K is concern, that it is an integral part of India and there is nothing more to discuss about that,” he added.
Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif raised the issue of Jammu and Kashmir in his meeting with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon stressing on the need for implementation of the United Nation’s Security Council resolutions. (ANI)
