Pakistan admits 120 deportees from Saudi Arabia

Karachi: Despite refusing the expatriates from Athens, Pakistan gave shelter to 100 illegal migrants from Saudi Arabia.

According to the Express Tribune, the 120 deportees were initially refused entry at the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore as they did not possess the required documents needed to prove their nationality.

However, a senior official of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) said the deportees had been stopped to verify their credentials and were later allowed in after their identities were confirmed.

The daily added that the interior ministry was ‘ignorant’ about the development and the matter still remained vague as to why the Saudi authorities had deported the Pakistani citizens. (ANI)
