Pak hopes peace talks between Afghan Govt., Taliban would resume soon: Aziz

Karachi, Sept. 27 : Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said that Pakistan hopes the reconciliation talks between the Government of Afghanistan and the Taliban would resume soon.

According to the Dawn, Aziz’s statement came at an event on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Aziz also said that Pakistan was ready to facilitate the reconciliation talks if the Afghan Government so desired.

Sartaj stressed that Pakistan’s efforts to persuade the Afghan Taliban to participate in peace talks should not, however, be interpreted as indirect endorsement of the current surge of violence in Afghanistan. (ANI)
