Pak Defence Minister says nation has done more to eliminate terrorism than rest of world

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Defence Minister, Khawaja Mohammad Asif, has claimed that his country and government has done more to eliminate terrorism than the rest of the world in the last year and a half.

He was speaking at the 63th annual parents-day ceremony at Cadet College Hassanabdal in Taxila in the context of the coalition forces of 16 countries that are fighting terrorism in Afghanistan.

Asif, a former student of the Cadet College, said Pakistan was going through a critical phase in its history, and added that the Nawaz Sharif-led government is very keen to deliver a safe and secure Pakistan to the next generations.

Lauding the sacrifices made by students of the college towards defending the country, the Dawn further quoted Asif, as saying that cadets of the college have been at the forefront of Pakistan’s many military campaigns since 1971.

Asif announced a Rs. 25 million grant for the renovation and upgradation work in the college and also said that a special grant from the prime minister would also be released soon. (ANI)
